Information on Adult Diapers

Writen by Stefan Rockhaus

Adult diapers are like an under garment worn by those individuals who do not have control over their bladder movements. People who are physically or mentally disabled, and are unable to reach the toilet on time, need to use diapers.

Adult diapers are made up of continuous layers of cloth or towel fabric, or such a material that can absorb liquid. The following are some examples of when adult diapers are used:

They are used by individuals who do not have any control over their continence.
By those who are mentally ill.
Security guards who have to remain on duty for a very long period of time.
Drivers who are forced to do non-stop driving.
They are also suitable for astronauts during the time they are in spacecraft.
Pregnant women, who urinate frequently.
People who are suffering from injuries, and cannot move from their places.

Cloth diapers are comparatively cheaper than other types of diapers, and they can also be re-used. They are more user-friendly, as they are made up of cotton fabric and are comfortable to wear. These diapers are usually best for people who are mentally or physically disturbed, as they are cheap and biodegradable.

Another type of adult diaper is the disposable diaper that is made up of waterproof cloth on its exterior, and moisture wicking cloth inside. There are many layers of tissue papers inside the moisture wicking cloth, and they are able to soak almost 90cc of liquid. Disposable diapers are more popular than cloth diapers because they can easily be disposed of, and you do not have to wash them again and again. Disposable diapers are made up of such a material that provides full dryness to your skin and keeps it free from rashes. Because of their moisture wicking layer, they are more comfortable to wear. Disposable diapers are more costly than cloth diapers.

Disposable diapers have eliminated the market of the cloth diaper due to their convenience. However, they take a huge amount of processing and their material remains as it is in landfills for various years. This is the reason that some countries have banned the dumping of untreated waste in landfills. Rather, they are incinerated as little residue is left in this way.

These disposable diapers contain various chemicals that are obtained inadvertently during their production, and also deliberately to increase the absorbing capacity. Although it works efficiently to keep the skin dry, it leads to irritation of the skin. But since they can be simply thrown away, people have ignored this disadvantage and to this date, disposable diapers are dominating the market.

Recent techniques have launched hybrid reusable diapers; they are made up of a fashionable pant, which can be reused. These diapers are made up of a material that is fully flushable and compostable to give extra care and comfort to adults as well as to babies.

So, in short we can say that these adult diapers have really been proved beneficial for those who are unable to help themselves.

A Portable Sauna – Surely Not

Writen by Adam Boulton

It sounds like a dream, a sauna that can be taken anywhere to enjoy at your leisure, the best thing about this is that it is a reality, not a dream.

There are many different options available when you are deciding to buy a sauna, but many people are opting for the portable infrared sauna because of its abilities to be moved easily and the fact that infrared heating is a great, easy and quick way of heating your sauna.

How easy is a portable infrared sauna to move?

You would think a portable sauna would be fairly heavy and difficult to move, but it is very easy. What you need to understand about the portable infrared sauna is it’s size and how you move such an item.

Size

A more expensive portable infrared sauna is about the same size as a large wardrobe and is also made by wooden paneling, sometimes with glass windows, the only difference being the depth of a sauna is greater than that of a wardrobe.

The portable sauna also comes in a smaller version, which is even easier to move. This sauna is made for a single person and is a tent made from special material surrounding a simple chair.

Moving the sauna

The larger saunas are made in a do it yourself way so they can be easily assembled and disassembled, this means they can easily be carried in smaller parts and stored away in an easier fashion.

The other saunas made in the form of a tent are even easier to move than their larger brothers, as they are smaller and created from a foldable material; you simply fold this sauna away and carry it under your arm.

Summary

Overall you can make any choice you wish in purchasing a sauna, but it is worth investigating the possibilities of a portable infrared sauna as they have so many advantages over other types of sauna.

Are You Holding in Negative Emotions, and Getting Sick?

Writen by Marnina Reid

If you are not used to expressing your emotions, it is understandable that doing so would feel scary. Acknowledge that you feel scared. You are already doing it. That acknowledgment was an expression! In the past, I worried that if tapped into negative emotions, I wouldn’t be able to control myself and the experience would be never-ending. In other words, I felt that if I started to feel some of what was there, I would be devastated all over again. Can you see how my mind was telling me those things out of protection? And by believing all those things my mind was telling me, can you see how I was creating so much fear and pain? This happens for people every day. We want to naturally let go, and yet our mind won’t shut up about how dangerous or terrible that would be.

See, it is actually the belief that creates the emotion. I will write that againit is the belief that creates the emotion. If you believe, “I am not good enough,” what emotions would result for you? Anger, grief, deep sadness, resentment? But if you were to believe “I am perfect just as I am,” what emotions would that belief create? It would create joy and contentment. This is where the body/mind connection comes into play. Negative emotions are toxic for the body. Holding on to them creates “dis-ease” and illness in the body. Again, the body will mirror what the mind believes.

Negative emotions actually produce several toxic chemicals in the body. These chemicals affect hormone regulation, neurotransmitters, endorphins, and other aspects of brain chemistry. They can create disease and illness in the body. These could manifest as low energy, headaches, flu, colds, cancer, and a vast array of other diseases. This is why it is so important to learn functional, healthy ways to release your emotions without harming anything or anyone. It is equally important to work on thinking positively about yourself. “I am not good enough” can be transformed to “I am more than good enough.”

What emotion do you feel when you have a headache? Practice just simply acknowledging what is going on for you. If you connect to a negative belief telling you that it’s not okay to feel emotion, call yourself on it. “Oops! There’s my pattern showing up again. I don’t have to buy into it!” Tell your mind, “thank you for sharing” and realize that the feeling is just your old conditioning from the past.

Fruits and Vegetables and Phytochemicals

Writen by Barbara Pfieffer

I’m willing to bet you probably haven’t heard the word ‘phytochemicals’ before. But you’ve been eating them your whole life and they are vitally important to your life and well-being. They are one of the keys to real health.

So, what are they? Phytochemicals are biologically active substances in food. They have health enhancing abilities and possibly curative abilities. They number in the hundreds in most plant foods. They are found in fruits, vegetables, legumes and grains.

Phytochemicals work together with nutrients to promote health and prevent disease. When you eat some broccoli or a tomato, you get all of these phytochemicals. So, can’t you just take a supplement? You could, but first of all, scientists have isolated only a few of the phytochemicals in foods. But these work best in combination, so taking just one, isolated phytochemical is not anywhere near as effective.

For example, let’s look at lycopene. It is found in tomatoes and is an antioxidant. Antioxidants are a large and important subject, but for now, let’s just simplify and say that antioxidants help to repair cellular damage.

Scientists did studies and found that tomatoes had a noticeable effect against prostate cancer. They analyzed the tomato and isolated lycopene. Then the scientists did more studies, using lycopene. The effect on prostate cancer was much less. Does this mean that lycopene doesn’t work?

No, it means that it works best in combination with all the other phytochemicals in tomatoes, and the nutrients. You don’t get that from a chemically identical, but lab-created, lycopene.

Eating a tomato is good for you, of course. But eating all the tomatoes you would need to get what you need from them would be quite a task. So, a whole foods powder that I use, Berry Greens, offers freeze dried tomatoes, in a form that retains the nutrients. And a whole lot of other vegetables and fruits as well. You get all the benefits of eating all those fruits and vegetables, without having to consume all that food.

Most foods have not been analyzed and even those that have been, scientists have only been able to isolate a few of the phytochemicals. Most vegetables have hundreds of phytochemicals, and it’s not likely they will all be isolated, analyzed and understood any time soon. We do know now, though, that they do work together to provide real health for us.

Barbara Pfieffer writes about gaining real health on her blog, Real Health. She has resources on what supplements really work, the differences among carbohydrates and other information to bring you to real health.

Alopecia Areata and Hair loss: What Does Aloe Vera Have to Do with It

Writen by Richard Amburn

A disease of unknown cause in which well-defined bald patches occur, usually on the head and other hairy parts of the body. The condition typically clears without treatment; recurrences are common. Alopecia areata is an immune system disorder where hair follicles cease making new hairs. About 2% of us experience a case of alopecia areata at some point in their lives.

Even though medical doctors have no known cure for alopecia areata, there have been some discoveries in the medical research arena of aloe. (El Zawahry M;Rashad M;Hegazy MR;Helal M;. Use of aloe in treating dermatoses. Int J Dermatol. 1973; 12: 68-73)

The Aloe vera gel, the substance from the inner leaf, has long been used for its wound healing properties and contains mainly polysaccharides consisting of acetylated mannose, glucose, galactose, and arabinose. Numerous studies have documented the effectiveness of fresh gel in healing skin or excessive x-ray irradiation or thermal burns. Fresh aloe vera gel applied to the skin was shown to be effective in alopecia, and alopecia areata. Several human clinical studies, which documented efficacy of aloe vera gel in treating psoriasis, burn wounds, and skin abrasions, have been documented. (Woodward S;. The soothing aloe vera plant. Delicious. 1997; 68-71)

Even though medical wisdom says that there is no cure alopecia, there is medical research stating that they have seen much improvement to alopecia in regards to aloe vera. Alopecia is not life treating, but it can be annoying. Remember alopecia is nothing to lose your hair about.

Cigarette Smoking and Weight Loss

Writen by Patricia Zelkovsky

Most people realize that cigarette smoking accelerates weight loss particularly in the elderly. But did you know that prolonged cigarette smoking could also cause weight gain.

This is because there is a substantial amount of sugar in each cigarette that you smoke. Each time you take a puff, the sugar in the cigarette is sped immediately into your bloodstream causing insulin spikes and the metabolism to work more slowly. This is why cigarettes are a contributing factor to causing diabetes. It may take days or decades for you to experience the kind of weight gain associated with insulin resistant reactions to cigarettes; it all depends on your physiology and your family history. However if you can’t seem to lose that last twenty pounds and are smoking like a chimney, those cigarettes you are smoking might be the culprit.

Tobacco in itself is an adaptogen meaning that it can cause either weight gain or weight loss. Embracing the idea that cigarettes directly cause you to shed pounds is foolhardy. It is more likely that the cigarette displaces food cravings that are caused by emotional issues. Instead of reaching for a bag of chips every time you feel stressed, lonely, frustrated or angry you are simply reaching for a smoke instead.

Perhaps the biggest issues to do with weight and cigarette smoking is the fact that most people pack on an average of twenty pounds once they quit. This is a huge deterrent for many people when it comes to making the decision to quit and a huge motivator for young women who start smoking in order to stay svelte.

Quitting smoking can cause a huge shift in metabolism once your body realizes that the adaptogen tobacco is no longer running the show. Deprived of its favorite addictive substance the body goes into panic mode and starts conserving fat to react to the scarcity of nicotine. It is highly possible that the body perceives cigarettes and the sugar that they contain as a necessary source of food.

Another reason for weight gain after quitting cigarettes is purely emotional. Most cigarette smokers have an oral fixation, which is why they always have a cigarette in their mouth. Without having the cigarettes around to take care of this oral fixation, the individual will start to appease their desire to always have something in their mouth by snacking. Many cigarette smokers will also reach for candies which mimic the sugar hit of taking a draw on a cigarette and provide their body with a similar sugary spike in their blood sugar. Of course this is not good for your pancreas or your waistline.

Unfortunately there is no one simple magical cure for dealing with the problem of gaining weight after quitting smoking. The key is to stay as active as possible, avoid sweets and avoid emotionally charged or stressful situations that might have you reaching for a cigarette or a snack substitute. Drinking cups of strong black coffee is also supposed to help cut the severity of these kinds of cravings and help you save both your lungs and your waistline.

Commonly Used Ringworm Medications

Writen by Groshan Fabiola

Ringworm is a common affection of the skin, scalp or nails. In spite of its name, the disease is actually caused by infection with fungal organisms. The fungal organisms responsible for causing ringworm are called dermatophytes and they are very widespread in nature. Ringworm is very contagious and it can be easily acquired from people or animals that are infected with dermatophytes. The fungal organisms can also be contracted from contaminated objects.

Arthrospores (fungal spores) can infest items such as bed linens, towels, clothes, combs or hats and it is important to avoid using other people’s personal objects in order to prevent the occurrence of ringworm. Most animals, especially cats and dogs, are carriers for dermatophytes and it is important to avoid physical contact with animals that show signs of infection. Although they carry the infectious fungal elements, some animals don’t develop ringworm and therefore appear healthy. Although proper hygiene can minimize the risks of developing ringworm, it is best to stay away from stray dogs and cats.

Although it can also occur in adults, ringworm is very common in children and elderly people. People with weak immune system are also very susceptible to developing the disease. There are multiple forms of ringworm and the disease can affect different areas on the body: feet, crotch, back, hands, face, neck, scalp and nails. Ringworm of the foot is the most common form of the disease. The infection usually occurs between the toes and circular reddish lesions appear on the affected skin regions. Ringworm of the scalp is very common in children and it can be very difficult to overcome. Its generated symptoms are: scaly scalp, itch, crust and pus-filled nodules. People with ringworm of the scalp can also suffer from temporary hair loss. Ringworm of the nails involves deterioration, thickening and discoloration of the nails. This form of ringworm is also difficult to treat.

The most effective ringworm medications contain fungicidal materials. Fungicidal ringworm medications are aimed at killing the fungal organisms and their spores. Fungicidal ringworm medications are far better than most fungistats, which usually just stop the fungi from reproducing, instead of eradicating the infection. Strong fungicidal ringworm medications are: Lamisil, Griseofulvin and Tinactin. Most of these antifungal medications are both under the form of oral pills or creams, gels and lotions. While most ringworm medications for external use don’t require a medical prescription, oral antifungal drugs can’t be purchased without a recommendation from your dermatologist.

For people who have ringworm of the scalp, ketoconazole-containing shampoo (Nizoral) can be very effective in overcoming the fungal infection. Under the form of creams, ringworm medications with ketoconazole should be applied once a day until the disease is completely cured. People with ringworm of the nails require oral ringworm medications such as Lamisil or Griseofulvin.

Most fungicidal ringworm medications can overcome the infection in around 14 days. Although you may experience an amelioration of the symptoms within the first few days, it is very important not to interrupt the treatment until your doctor tells you to. Follow the treatment with ringworm medications for as long as your doctor indicates. In order to ensure that the infection is fully overcome, the antifungal treatment should be continued for another 10 days after the symptoms have disappeared. If the treatment with ringworm medications is prematurely stopped, the infection can quickly reoccur.

Depression-My Story

Writen by Rebecca White

What is depression?

Depression is a serious medical illness; it’s not something that you have made up in your head. It’s more than just feeling “down in the dumps” or “blue” for a few days. It’s feeling “down” and “low” and “hopeless” for weeks at a time.

It is not something you can just pull yourself out of! It is not something that you can just shake off. To read more about the signs and symptoms of depression go to this link: http://www.nimh.nih.gov/publicat/depression.cfm#ptdep3

For many people one tiny thing can set off a huge depression attack. I have suffered from depression now for 8 years, I guess to be truthful I have dealt with depression my whole life but just didn’t realize it till the incident I am about to relate to you.

8 years ago my husband Brent was in the military, he had been having problems with his health for a little over a year and the doctors all said it was in his head and that they could find nothing wrong with him. Our oldest sons were only 1

Beautiful Eyes

Writen by John Russell

Beautiful skin care starts with what people notice first. Eyes are what others notice immediately; so start your skin care program eye-to-eye!

Here are four major skin care issues related to eye care, work them successfully and look 20 years younger.

Dark Circles

Check the color of your circles. If they’re blue or gray, allergies or pooling blood may be to blame. Receive the firming, moisturizing, and corrective benefits (including the reduction in appearance of dark circles) of just released DNA Repair Creme, found at www.ihdistribution.com.

Undereye Puffiness

To beat those bags, diagnose the cause: If you’re puffy only upon awakening, fluid retention is the likely cause; sleeping on two pillows can prevent liquids from pooling. Been using a new face cream or rubbing your eyes? These can cause swelling. A gel that contains a blood-vessel constrictor, like witch hazel, and an anti-inflammatory, like chamomile extract, can temporarily reduce irritation. Or make a home remedy: Mix one drop each of witch hazel, brewed chamomile tea, and over-the-counter cortisone lotion. If you’ve got time, lay a cucumber slice on top to help the paste penetrate better. If puff is always present, try IH Distribution’s DNA Repair Creme to reduce puffiness and repair the delicate tissue around the eye.

Crow’s Feet

When you smile, your eyes pay a price when the muscles around them contract, and a little elasticity is lost. Combine that with sun exposure and, in about 30 years, you’ve got crow’s feet. DNA Repair Cry me, found at www.ihdistribution.com, is effective to repair fine lines and wrinkles around the eye. The products are natural and botanical-based.

Drooping

Most firming creams have little, if any, effect on sagginess so this is a job for cosmetics, strategically applied to define and visually “lift” the eyes. First choose a shadow palette:

-Apply the midtone from lashline to crease. This adds soft shading to your lids.
-To draw attention to the highest part of your arch, dust the light, shimmery color along browbone, starting from middle of brow and blending outward.
-Sweep the darkest color over your crease, blending into the midtone, then toward the inner corner of your brow. (This softens the harshness of using the dark tone alone.)
-Line your upper lashes with the darkest shade, intensifying the color and slightly flaring it up at the outer edge. Finish off with a curling mascara to open up your eyes.
-You can find a vast assortment of eye shadow colors produced from cucumber and aloe extracts that are designed to soothe and moisturize lids.

Eye Color Hints = Big Impact!

-Enhance your eye hue with a single contrasting shadow shade. For blue or icy green eyes, choose a warm, yellow-based hue; for brown or olive-y eyes, opt for a cool, red-based shadow.
-Perk up dull eyes. Irises lose pigment as you age, but brightening your hair helps compensate, says Boston colorist Michael Perry. To achieve, use a shine-enhancing shampoo (try IH Distribution’s Self-Adjusting Shampoo & Conditioner).
-Neutralize blue or gray circles with a yellow-based concealer. Cover-ups with a drier consistency often have more pigment.
-Offset bloodshot eyes. Blue liner works, but it can look unnatural. Better: Glide a neutral eyeliner (brown or black) along upper lashlines, then apply a blue liner on top; blend.
Groom ragged brows: They can accentuate droop. For quick cleanup, use a colored brow wand to thicken and add arch.

Control Tips

How you live affects your eyes. So to keep yours looking good, consider changing some daily habits.

-Perfume. If your eyes are sensitive, fragrance can make them red. To diminish this effect without giving up scent, avoid classic spots – like behind your ears that are too close to your eyes.
-Diet. On a low carb. plan? It’s dehydrating (to metabolize the extra protein, your body uses more water) and your eyes may show it. Compensate by drinking ten glasses of water each day, two more than what’s usually recommended.
-Prescriptions. High blood pressure medicines and antihistamines for allergies can dry your eyes. Rehydrate with drops sans preservatives (they can be irritating) and, if you wear contacts, a moisturizing cleaning solution.
-Exercise. When sweat drips into your eyes, so do dirt and oils and rubbing your eyes with your fingers can start an infection. Instead dab sweat with a towel and try to wear a sweatband.

Alternative Therapies for Acid Reflux Disease

Writen by Carl Spanier

Acid Reflux Disease, or GERD, is a common disease which affects approximately 5-7% of the population. It occurs when acid from the stomach backs up into the esophagus, a long, thin, muscular tube, which connects the mouth and the stomach. This often causes a constant burning sensation behind the breastbone, which is commonly known as heartburn. Long-term or persistent heartburn should be evaluated by a doctor, as heartburn can imitate the symptoms of heart disease.

Once you have been properly diagnosed as having Acid Reflux Disease, there are a variety of treatment options available to you. Many doctors recommend over the counter medications, developed to reduce stomach acid, such as antacids or prokinetic agents. Some patients who are unable to control their symptoms with non-prescription medication may either choose prescription antacids or surgery, or opt for a combination of the two.

There are other options available, however, to help you manage your symptoms. Many patients are able to control their disease by simply by making lifestyle changes. Here are a few tips, to get you started.

Probably the most important lifestyle change that you could make to help you manage your GERD symptoms is the simplest- avoid the foods and drinks that make you uncomfortable! While this may sound like common sense, many sufferers find it difficult to make dietary changes. Try replacing fatty, deep-fried foods with healthier options, such as tasty summer salads and steamed vegetables. You should also try to limit your intake of caffeinated beverages, as caffeine is a known contributor to GERD, so opt for decaf teas and coffees instead.

Stress reduction is also key to the management of acid reflux disease. The body manufactures more stomach acid when under stress, so it is important to learn to relax. Meditation is a very useful tool for effectively reducing stress levels, so incorporating one or two short meditation sessions into each day can help you to relax. Likewise, yoga is also recommended as being an effective way to manage stress, so try to find a class near you.

By incorporating simple changes into your life, you can not only better manage your GERD symptoms, but also enhance the overall quality of your life.

Carl Spanier is the founder of Acid Reflux Causes a website that allows consumers to quickly and easily get acid reflux information.
