Coping with Dental Problems Naturally

Writen by Victor Shayne

Dental issues can become all-consuming in one’s life, and knowing their causes, and ways to prevent problems, is essential to overall good health. Just the same, there is hope and there are natural remedies for gum pain or abscessed tooth.

Look Behind the Problem

By the time we end up with bleeding or gum pain, mouth ulcers or sores, or a problem tooth, there are usually tell tale signs of problems along the way. This is because gums and teeth are highly sensitive to nutritional issues and deficiencies.

Let’s break this issue down and examine three parts:

  1. gum problems;
  2. tooth problems;
  3. overall dental health and care

Gum Problems and Disease

Everyone should be familiar with proper dental care, however it surprising that children know so little about this matter. Eventually the poor dental habits of children turn into the habits of adults.

The most typical lapse is in dental flossing. Some people stop flossing because of bleeding gums. However, the dental profession has confirmed that bleeding during flossing is a sign that insufficient flossing is taking place. And they see bleeding as a sign of periodontal disease (which leads to loosened and lost teeth). So, keep moving in the right direction and keep flossing.

Ties have been made between dental hygiene and overall health. Problems with teeth and gums are signs of deeper health issues, including a lack of important nutrients. Eating certain types of foods robs the mouth and teeth of important healing and health-building agents; and NOT eating certain real, whole, raw foods deprives the mouth and teeth of the ability to heal.

Since the mouth is the first step in the digestion process, an unhealthy mouth leads to a type of starvation that results from the inability to break down foods and use them in the cells. Of course, sugar has been implicated in dental problems for hundreds of years, but there are other lesser known substances that are just as harmful, including toxins, artificial ingredients, refined foods, soda and acidic "food" ingredients.

Another serious factor in dental health is smoking and the use of tobacco products which restrict healthy blood flow to the mouth, cause oxidation within cells and the destruction of tissues, thus damaging teeth and bones.

Short Term and Strategy

Unfortunately, by the time there is an diseased tooth, the best that can be done is often at the hands of a skilled dentist, because an untreated (or mistreated) infection can spread rapidly through your body. The mouth has an obviously close relationship to vital organs such as your eyes, ears, nose and most importantly the brain. A spreading infection could be fatal.

Typically, oral surgery is performed to remove a problem tooth and historically has involved the potential of removing some jaw bone (if infected or destroyed). Replacement teeth and antibiotics are a common course of action. Not only can steps be taken to improve your health to recover more rapidly from the procedure, but also how to prevent future problems, attack problems when they do pop up, and most importantly how to eliminate existing gum pain.

In terms of recovery from oral surgery, we would suggest the use of pure whole food nutritional supplements to provide you with dense nutrition and associated vitamins for healing and tissue repair. Vitamin C complex and bioflavonoids are essential for healing blood vessels and mouth tissues. Any time there are ulcers; calcium is needed in greater supply (again seek only a natural non lactose source of nutrition).

We are really concerned about overall health, healing, and doing this naturally. Scientific evidence is catching up with common logic to reveal that the best way to minimize disease and improve health is through what you eat and altering habits (no tobacco products, brushing and flossing teeth). A big step to over come is that most people suffer from poor diets but they think they are fine. For example, it is estimated that the average American eats his/her weight in sugar each year (about 150lbs) and the result of this is seen not only in dental problems but also in the explosion of cases of diabetes, immune diseases, musculoskeletal issues (bones and joints), and problems with bodily tissue repair.

Take Action

Good dental hygiene is a must and is simple. Fluoride remains a very debatable topic, with even top dental researchers and Nobel scientists arguing that it is a toxin. Fluoride is scientifically proven as poisonous to the body, yet for political reasons it has gained common acceptance. (Journal of the American Dental Association 2000;131:746-754). Read up on this important health issue at fluoridealert.org and other web sites. But, just because fluoride has a dubious role doesn’t mean you should stop brushing your teeth. There are alternatives to fluoride toothpastes and mouthwashes that should be considered. Just the same, brushing and flossing are a must.

Eating fresh and raw foods is critical, but underrated, when it comes to dental health. The enzymes and nutrients (not just vitamins) that exist in raw foods and Whole Food Supplements allow for bodily healing. Of special interest are foods high in Calcium and Vitamin C complex (not vitamin c in the form of ascorbic acid). These foods are the dark green leafy vegetables, berries and fresh fruits. Organically grown sources are always preferable because of their lack of chemicals (pesticides and herbicides).

The Next Step

Change your habits and change your life. Here’s the goal:

  • Eliminate tobacco products from your body
  • Seriously reduce sugar consumption (sparingly use foods such as honey, maple syrup or stevia; but do not switch to artificial sweeteners)
  • Eat fresh foods (fruits and vegetables) not processed ones (frozen, packaged, canned, finished).
  • Consider whole food supplements to bolster your intake of nutrients, in addition to eating high quality foods
  • Brush and floss your teeth after each meal
  • Get some exercise every day (preferably 20 strenuous minutes at a minimum)
  • Recent studies are supporting the age old adage of getting a minimum of 7 hours of quality sleep per night which will allow the body to heal and recover

Whether you are in the midst of dental problems, concerned about prevention for you and your family, looking to strengthen your dental health, suffering from mouth ulcers, tooth decay, mouth sores, bleeding gums or receding gums, along with smart dental care, Natural do exist for dental problems and are probably be the best means to over all health and wellness.

Hand Controls

Writen by Ian Major

Whether you are disabled or just need that extra helping hand around the house and office, hand controls will be around to help. These devices can be as complex as a mechanical robot that does all your work for you to as simple as a stick with a pulley handle attached.

Equipment With Hand Controls

These devices are more commonly known to someone who is disabled than to someone who is not. They can be of help in many different ways. Hand controls may help you grab a cup out of the cupboard or take laundry out of the machine. Using one of these devices should not be too hard for most people.

You cannot purchase these items in any store they need to be ordered and then delivered to your household after begin specially made.

Not everyone who needs hand controls has to pay for them out of their own pocket. No, we are not talking about stealing! People who have insurance or medicaid will have to pay very little if anything for their hand controls.

Technical Support For Hand Controls

After purchasing your hand controls, learning how to use and take care of them is the next important step. Most of the devices are self-explanatory when it comes to using them, but others are more complicated. Make sure that you read the manual; most companies send their controls with a reader friendly manual that will lay out the ground rules very clearly.

Do You Need Hand Controls

Keep in mind that you are not considered disabled if you are a lazy bum and your legs and arms fell asleep for those four hours that you were watching television (please do not attempt)! Even still, some people still tend to order these items for their own personal uses. In this case when personal uses are said, it means you use a handle that is attached to a stick to grab your remote!

There are many people who need to have hand controls in order to function easily in everyday life. Whether it is from not being able to get your coffee mug from the cupboard in the morning to being able to do laundry, they will be there to help you master difficult tasks that you would be otherwise unable to do.

Hand controls have also been made to help you in the car while driving. These hand controls are usually attached to the bottom of the steering wheel, so it does not give you any discomfort. When you need it, you pull it out (it is usually right on top of your knees at this point) and take what you need.

After you use what you needed, you can slip it right back under the steering wheel. So you are all set and did not even have to put anything together to use. Depending on what company you purchased your device from, they will even come and install it for you.

Flabby Arm Exercise – A Sure Fire Way To Tone And Tighten The Chicken Wings In Record Time

Writen by Paul J. O’Brien

Flabby Arm Exercise is the perfect cure for the most demanded problem in fitness, the dreaded chicken wing arm. The horror and embarrassment of waving to your friends, only to find that your arm is shaking more than your hand, has been a reality for thousands of women. The good news is with a few minutes of exercise that you can do at home you can transform your arms from flab to fab.

Fat is primarily deposited in the female form in three locations, the belly, the butt, and yes the back of the arm. In this section I am going to teach you some exercises to tighten and tone the triceps, the major muscle on the back of the arms.

The flabby arm exercise on this page will work the muscle of the triceps and tighten it up as well as burn calories at an accelerated rate.

Combining the exercises below with a gentle walk every morning before breakfast and you’ll see the results fast. A brisk walk will accelerate the fat loss effect and reveal the tight toned muscle these flabby arm exercise’s will build.

So let’s get down to work then. Here are my top techniques for tight toned triceps.

Overhead Triceps Extensions

1. Stand upright, with you feet shoulder width apart.

2. Hold your dumbbell directly above your head with arm fully extended. Clasp elbow with free hand for support.

3. Slowly let your elbow fold so the dumbbell is lowered behind your head.

4. Extend your arm back to the starting position. Repeat for the desired number of reps and switch arms.

French Presses

1. Lie flat on a bench. Hold the dumbbells directly above your chest with palms facing each other.

2. The Dumbbells should be just about touching each other.

3. Keeping your shoulders locked, let your elbows fold so the dumbbells are lowered down to either side of the head.

4. Extend both your arms back to start position and repeat

Triceps Kickbacks

1. Stand upright next to a bench. Place one arm and leg on the bench. Your upper body should be parallel to the ground.

2. Holding the dumbbell raise your elbow so your upper arm is parallel to the ground. Your elbow should be bent at right angles.

3. Extend your elbow so your entire arm is parallel to the ground.

4. Slowly return to the start position and repeat for the desired number of reps before changing arms.

Diamond Pushups

1. Lie face down on the floor with your hands palm down, fingers pointing straight ahead, and aligned at the nipple line.

2. Place your hands in the centre of your chest and form a diamond shape with your index fingers and thumbs.

3. Your feet should be at hip width with your toes on floor.

4. Extend the elbows and raise your body off the floor.

5. Lower your entire body (legs, hips, trunk, and head) 4-8 inches from the floor.

6. Return to the start position by extending at the elbows and pushing your body up.

7. Remember to keep the head and trunk stabilized and in a neutral position by isometrically contracting the abdominal and back muscles.

8. Never fully lock out the elbows at the start position and avoid hyperextension of the low back.

Hope you enjoy these exercises. Consisten practice every other day will have you trim and toned in no time and you can wave those flabby arms goodbye!

Discover DHA Essential Fatty Acids

Writen by Dan Ho

Omega 3 Fish Oil Pill…

What are DHA essential fatty acids….?

DHA is arguably the most important of all the omega 3 fatty acids.

The human brain, for example, is made up of approximately 60% fats by weight. And about half of that fat is DHA!

That should tell you just a bit about how crucial this omega 3 fatty acid is for our brain, and mental well-being.

Of course, omega 3 fatty acids benefit much more than just the brain. They also benefit cardiovascular health tremendously.

Indeed, the American Heart Association states: “Omega 3 fatty acids benefit the heart of healthy people, and those at high risk of — or who have — cardiovascular disease.”

As you probably know, heart disease is one of the top killers in the Western world. In fact, for years it was the number #1 killer, but it has since fallen to the #2 spot, and is now second only to cancer.

Omega 3 Fish Oill Pill

What’s alarming is that most people are deficient in DHA essential fatty acids, even though it is so important.

The major reason is that foods nowadays do not nearly have the same level of omega 3 content as they once did for our ancestors.

For example, meats we eat are mass produced and raised on grain to be fattened for profits. This leads to low omega 3 content — both DHA essential fatty acids and EPA.

Before mass produced livestock with rapid fattening means were the norm, however, the meats we ate were free ranging, grass-fed animals. This lifestyle and natural diet created a high omega 3 content in these animals, and, subsequently, our diets.

Nowadays, the best way to get DHA essential fatty acids and EPA is to include a high quality omega 3 fish oill pill as part of your daily regimen.

Eating fish itself rich in omega 3 is no longer the best route to go for two options:

1. Farm raised fish are a lousy source of Omega 3’s because they no longer eat their natural diet that made them a great source, but are fed pellets. In fact, did you know that when you buy a farm raised salmon from your local grocery store, the pink color of the flesh no longer is even natural? That’s right. It’s a sickly pale color, and the fish is injected with coloring dye to achieve the natural reddish/pink color of salmon.

2. Fish that come from the wild can still be a great source of DHA essential fatty acids, but because most of the Ocean’s waters harbor pollutants, fish we eat now overwhelmingly have these toxins accumulated in their flesh. Serious toxins like mercury and PCB’s. This is precisely why pregnant women need to eliminate to reduce the amount of fish they eat because toxins like mercury can impair the neurological development of the fetus.

The solution is to take an omega 3 fish oil pill that is pharmaceutical grade and molecularly distilled. These are the highest quality products on the market; the process of molecular distillation removes the toxins and contaminants, leaving only the beneficial omega 3’s: DHA essential fatty acids and EPA.

Not all fish sources for an omega 3 fish oil pill are going to be equal, however. Some fish are naturally higher in DHA essential fatty acids than others.

Discover a molecularly distilled omega 3 fish oil pill very high in DHA essential fatty acids by visiting: http://www.omega-3-fish-oil-guide.com/Fish_Oil_Products.html

Enjoy A Healthier Lifestyle With More Fruits And Vegetables

Writen by Nishanth Reddy

Everyone agrees on the importance of eating more fruits and vegetables, but not enough people are following this important advice. Dietary experts recommend that every person should eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables every day. Increasing your consumption of fruits and vegetables is one of the easiest changes you can make to increase your level of health, lose weight and gain fitness.

The latest food guidelines recommend that adults eat from five to nine servings of fruits and vegetables every day. While that may seem like a lot, it is an important goal to strive for, and a very reachable one.

A serving of a fruit or vegetable is equal to:

1. 1 medium sized vegetable or fruit (such as an apple, orange or banana)
2. 2 small fruits (such as kiwi fruit or plums)
3.

Cost of Laser Hair Removal

Writen by Kim Roach

Laser hair removal is one of the most advanced technologies for eliminating unwanted body hair. It is a fairly quick solution that is gentle and relatively painless. However, treatments can be fairly pricey depending on a variety of factors. Each treatment is generally around $300 – $500.

Here are some of the factors that will affect how much you will pay for laser hair removal.

1. Whey you live. Of course, there are always price variations depending on your geographic location. The cost of laser hair removal differs from state to state and even from country to country.

2. Size of the area treated. Large areas, such as the entire back or the entire legs, will cost considerably more than smaller areas, such as the upper lip.

3. Number of laser hair removal treatments. Almost everyone has to have multiple treatments. This is because hair is always in the growth phase. The total number of treatments you will need depends on your hair color, skin color, and the thickness of your hair.

Light skin with dark hair makes laser hair removal much easier to perform. This type of skin will require much fewer treatments than darker skin.

Laser hair removal treatment must be individualized for each person. Therefore, it is very important to find a clinic that is professional and has a trained, caring staff that is dedicated to getting you optimal results.

4. Type of laser hair removal equipment used. There are a variety of different types of laser hair removal equipment on the market. Depending on the equipment used, pricing can vary.

As you can see, the costs of laser hair treatments can quickly add up. However, because this is a medical procedure, you should seek out a reputable medical center with an experienced staff. It is important to get multiple consultations to find out which clinic will be best for your needs.

Diabetes Awareness: I’ll Wait ’til it Hurts

Writen by David Anderson

By the time many type 2 diabetics (and often their doctors) realize action is necessary, the disease, with its destructive high blood sugars, has been silently damaging their body for years.

Complications to the blood vessels and tissues of your eyes, feet, heart, kidneys, and other organs, are likely well underway.

You visit the doctor because you feel bad, and you wish to feel better. You react to the symptoms of perceived illness. This is understandable, but does not allow much room for prevention or early detection of diabetes.

Of course this idea, “Don’t see the doctor ’til it hurts,” comes from our “busier-then-ever” lifestyles. But to blame, to point fingers after the damage has started is as pointless as is the leaping bungee-jumper’s complaint that his equipment has just failed. It’s a little late to talk about why. Some problems are better prevented.

If you have type 2 diabetes, you know most of the time you don’t feel very bad. You might think that because you don’t feel very bad, it isn’t very serious, and you don’t have to do anything about it just now. “I’ll wait ’til it hurts” …You couldn’t be more wrong.

Diabetes damages your body with high blood sugars. It doesn’t care whether your sugars are high from type 2, type 1, or some other cause if they’re up, they’re doing damage. Type 2 diabetics who let their sugars run “because they don’t feel bad” are doing serious damage to their eyes, kidneys, hearts, and nervous systems.

Suppose you have diabetes, and don’t want the complications. Suppose you don’t know you have diabetes, but you’re from a high-risk group (maybe someone in your family has or had diabetes), and you want to cut the risks. Or, suppose you just want to feel better.

It’s all the same Your early detection, education, and prevention work best.

Don’t wait ’til it hurts. Ask your doctor about diabetes and have your blood sugar checked several times a year.

Herbal Supplements for Memory

Writen by John Gibb

With the advent of the information superhighway and the need for knowledge higher than ever, it can be difficult to cope with life when you have a bad memory. Luckily, people around the world have been using herbal supplements for memory for thousands of years, and many of them that have been proven effective are available today.

Here are a couple of herbal supplements for memory that can help you get your thought process back on track:

Fish Oil:

Harvested from the bodies of fish, fish oil is purified through a scientific process and turned into supplement form. Containing Omega-3 fatty acids, fish oil can have numerous effects on your body for the better. For one, fish oil can aid in preventing the onset of Alzheimer’s disease. It has also been associated with better memory, clearer thinking, and health of the heart. One of the best nutrients for brain health, this supplement’s effect on your body can be vast.

Be sure to only purchase pharmaceutical grade fish oil, however, since this is the process which removes the heavy metals found in fish due to pollutants. If your fish oil is not pharmaceutical grade, you run the risk of consuming such dangerous materials as mercury. In addition to being a great one of the herbal supplements for memory, the other numerous effects it has on your health are wide-spanning and helpful.

Ginkgo Biloba:

Ginkgo Biloba is another one of the herbal supplements for memory on the market that promises to aid your depression in addition to a host of other features. Ginkgo is the oldest known tree in the world, and its primary effect on the human body is improving cerebral circulation. Ginkgo Biloba is also known to increase oxygenation of brain tissues.

Due to these two features, Gingko has been linked to better brain health and is used for memory loss, depression, and even headaches. Another sound fact to know is that ginkgo has no known side effects.

These herbal supplements for memory can definitely change your life for the better.

Ghost of Binge Past

Writen by Allura D. Mitchell

Holidays and special events should be a time of great joy, but dieters customarily imagine these occasions with dread and horror. Why? Because celebrations are not celebrations without lots of high-calorie, tempting foods. Does this suggest that you have to become a social-scrooge to duck temptation? No. The “secret” is to create a survival “plan” ahead of time and stick to it throughout this holiday season.

“If you fail to plan, you can plan to fail” is a time worn and clich

Chakra Healing

Writen by Jamie Lynn

The art of chakra healing has been used for centuries to balance important energy centers in our body called chakras. We can use a number of different tools such as stones or meditation during chakra balancing. The end result will be a physically healthier body and a happier, more peaceful you.

According to practitioners of chakra healing, we all have seven primary chakras that correspond with vital areas of our bodies and emotional and spiritual aspects of our lives. The seven chakras form a line from the base of your spine to the top of your head. Chakras have their own color, vibrational frequency, and symbol. For example, the first chakra is found at the base of the spine and is known as the root chakra. This chakra governs the spinal column, kidneys, legs, feet, rectum, and immune system. So, when this chakra is out of balance, it may lead to lower back pain, varicose veins, leg cramps, rectal conditions, depression, as well as immune related disorders. A lack of balance in the root chakra may be caused by feelings of low self esteem, insecurity, or family concerns.

Other chakras include the sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, brow, and crown chakras. Each energy center must be vibrating at the proper frequency independent of one another in order for the entire body to vibrate in harmony. Therefore, each chakra is equally important to optimal functioning of the body according to the chakra healing tradition.

Many powerful tools can affect the vibration of the chakra, and that’s where chakra balancing comes into play. Chakra stones, the human voice, music, chants, mantras and chakra meditation bring the frequency of the chakras back into proper vibrational alignment. For example, the root chakra is greatly affected by the hematite, onyx, ruby or garnet gemstones. During chakra healing a practitioner may use one or all of these chakra stones to cleanse your root chakra and bring it into harmony.

Chakra meditation may also be used to open up your chakra centers and improve the flow of positive psychic energy in your body. During meditation you simply concentrate on each of the chakras starting with the first one and working your way up to your crown chakra. By imagining the flow of energy from chakra to chakra, you are helping to remove blockages in each energy center that might be causing pain and disease.

Because the chakras govern every organ and system in your body, chakra healing has far reaching health implications. Chakra balancing can lead to improved heart, lung, brain, immune and digestive function and may also help with depression, anxiety, and other emotional imbalances. Many believe that the chakras have the power to transform your life both physically and spiritually. It is only when our chakras are in sync that we can truly access higher levels of consciousness.

If the powerful art of chakra healing sounds intriguing to you, visit an experienced chakra healer. A good healer will ask you plenty of questions about your health in order to pinpoint which of your chakras are the most blocked or unbalanced. From there he or she may employ any number of tools to help lead your energy centers into harmonious vibration. http://www.meditationandmore.com
