Identifying The Causes For Sinus Allergies

Writen by Bill Urell

Do your sinuses get plugged up the minute spring arrives? Do your sinus symptoms come and go with the arrival of different seasons? Do your sinus symptoms seem to increase when you are exposed to mold, dust, or animals? These sinus allergy situations are just a few examples of when sinus allergies can intensify to the point of real discomfort.

Environmental elements such as dust, pollen, and mold seep into your sinuses. Your body perceives these substances as harmful and reacts by producing histamines. These histamines come in the form of itching eyes and an itching, runny nose.

One of the most common sinus allergy afflictions is due to hay fever and ragweed. Hay fever is an allergic reaction to your environment.

A sinus allergy is often confused with a cold. How can you determine if you have a sinus allergy versus a cold? Observe to see whether you have red, itchy eyes and a runny nose along with the congestion. The itching is a sign that you have a sinus allergy as versus a cold.

Another way to figure out if you are suffering from a sinus allergy versus a cold is to ppay attention to what time of the year your congestion isymptoms increase. Does congestion increase in the spring when the flowers (and the weeds), are in full bloom? Does your congestion and itchy increase when there is high pollen activity in the environment? If this is true, then you most likely have a sinus allergy.

Sinus allergies can erupt from pollutants in your household. Always keep your house clean and use an air purifying filter. Mold, dust, and dander can leave you susceptible to sinus allergy flare-ups. How can you minimize the effects of household mold, dust, and dander? A HEPA filter is a great filter to use that will rid your air of any harmful substances.

If you do suffer from sinus allergies then you can find relief by heading to the medicine isles of your grocery store or local drug store. There are plenty of sinus allergy medications to choose from. Become a label reader tp make sure you are getting the most effective and appropriate medication. Some sinus allergy medications are made for the day time and will not make you drowsy. As opposed to Antihistamines that can make you drowsy.

Sinus allergy is a common trial for many people. Take comfort in knowing that sinus relief is available, it is a matter of combining the small steps together to get significant relief. By removing environmental triggers and taking allergy medication you have the best chance of minimizing your sinus allergies.

A Natural Approach to Allergy Therapy

Writen by Bryan Brodeur

Allergies are essentially a situation in which your immune system responds too strongly to a stimulus. While this sounds like a good situation, it is a toxic and potentially deadly situation for your body. Your immune system is powerful enough to destroy any invader if co-ordinated properly. Co-ordinated improperly, your immune system will destroy your own vital components; it will cause you sinusitis, skin conditions, asthmatic reactions, stomach and intestinal diseases, and more.

Medicine has no cure for allergies, only drugs for their symptoms. These drugs are, ironically, designed to weaken your immune response. The ‘anti-histamines’ often prescribed to combat asthma daily can be deadly. They are associated with heart problems, and in a Canadian Study published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute anti-histamines can increase the rate of growth of cancerous tumours in lab rodents.

What you need to learn are the approaches to allergy therapy that will make good health sense, working in a productive manner to keep you healthy for the long term.

The primary control system of your allergic response is your nervous system. Your nervous system is likely to be irritated physically on several levels if you do have allergies, and it is important to reduce these sources. The systems that you can use to reduce these factors vary, and it is important to understand the method you choose thoroughly. Secondary to controlling your immune system, you must discover the types of foods that will empower your body to function properly through a healthy diet.

It is equally important that emotional stress in your life be reduced. Many people are walking emotional wrecks and are ignoring the damage this is doing to their health. The secrets to overcoming emotional problems are simple and straightforward honesty and courage in dealing with each situation that provides you with emotional instability or stress. Focusing on the health of the mind and body are essential steps for reducing the emotional barriers that your personal history has burdened you with. These steps can be empowering, and they are healing.

With allergies, as with any chronic condition, proper styles of living will reduce your symptoms and may even eliminate them. The important aspect to this process of self-learning and self-healing is to take on new ideas and new concepts while reducing the blurring effects of old concepts slowly. Examine issues over and over again with a new perspective and you will slowly learn the underlying steps to a stronger level of health, both mentally and physically.

How To Avoid The Fat Demons

Writen by Glenn Freiboth

If you have ever been on a diet or weight loss program you know that you constantly have voices talking to you to try to derail you from your goal. I like to call them the “Fat Demons”. They want you to stay fat. Maybe it is a protective thing in your subconscious that says, “If you stay fat then people will stay away from you and you won’t be hurt by bad relationships anymore.”

You know what I am talking about, don’t you? You are walking down the aisles at the grocery store and it isn’t the fresh fruits and vegetables that are calling out to you, it is the twinkies and the Little Debbie snack cakes! Am I right? You know I am!

You walk into a convenience store and buy a diet drink and then you get to the checkout stand and you grab a chocolate bar to go along with it. Or you buy the Baked Lays chips and then buy a container of French Onion Dip to dip them in.

You are on your diet and every commercial on TV screams out at you with food ads. “Two Extra Large Pizzas for $10.00!” You go through the local Wendy’s Drive thru and you order a grilled chicken breast sandwich with lettuce only and you have done good until the clerk says, “You want fries with that? Do you want to biggie size it? Want a Frosty to go with that?” Now you have your caloric intake for two days! Resist the temptation to let them sucker you into the crate of fries and the 55 gallon drum of coke.

You have to identify your weaknesses and know how to combat them. If you know that you have a weakness for junk food at your local convenience store stay out of it. If you have a craving for Big Macs and Double Whoppers with cheese stay away from McDonalds and Burger King!

Don’t sit and eat in front of a TV, instead eat in front of a mirror! I’m not kidding. If you sit there and watch yourself eat and you are overweight you will become disgusted if you try to eat too much.

Don’t let little slip ups get you down. Just say, “You got me that time” but you won’t get me again. Keep a positive attitude.

Everybody’s Fat Demons are different. You have to identify the ones that call to you and recognize them for what they are. Every time you beat them you will become stronger against them. Reward yourself with a “TINY” snack for beating them, don’t go overboard.

3 Exercises for Good Posture and a Six-Pack

Writen by Emmanuel Mendonca

These days many people spend a significant part of their day slaving away over a hot computer and as a result, their posture is not what it should be. Bad posture can result in short-term discomfort such as neck stiffness and headaches and also lead to more serious problems in later life. It is therefore worth spending some time to counteract the damage we may be doing to ourselves every day. But how about this – did you know that some of the same exercises that you can do to maintain good posture are the very same exercises, which if done regularly, can help you to achieve a six-pack? I am totally serious – this is something I discovered recently while looking at different exercise routines because I wanted to do something about my own bad posture. As well as sitting and standing up straight, you will also look good on the beach next summer. Kill two birds with one stone!

The following exercises should be done a minimum of three times per week and although you will not see and feel significant results for approximately 6-8 weeks, you will start to feel the developing muscles encouraging you to sit and stand straighter, almost immediately.

Pelvic tilt – Lie on the floor with your knees bent. Your feet should be parallel and arms to the side. Tighten your lower abdominal muscles, pulling your navel and lower back towards the floor. You should do this without using your buttocks or leg muscles to help you. Do this five times, holding for five seconds each time.

Trunk Curls – Lie on your back on the floor, with knees bent. Place your hands lightly behind your head. Using your upper abdominal muscles, raise your trunk off the floor to about 20 degrees and hold for 5 seconds. Then lie down again slowly. Do not put any strain on the neck or lead with your head. Try to imagine touching the ceiling with your chest. Repeat five times.

Arm / Leg raises – Lie face-down on the floor, keeping your neck straight, with your legs extended and arms straight overhead. Then slowly raise your left arm and right leg about six inches off the ground. Hold for five seconds and lower. Repeat with the right arm and left leg. Repeat five times on each side.

As you should before starting all types of exercise, consult your doctor if you have a history of health problems.

Acne: Rambazole Can Be a Good Medication Against Acne In Future

Writen by Hector Milla

A study with Rambazole, a novel retinoic acid metabolism-blocking agent (RAMBA), determined that 94 per cent of subjects -with moderate-to-severe acne treated with 1 mg of oral Rambazole once daily for 12 consecutive weeks- experienced reduction in total acne lesion count of more than 50 per cent and 35 per cent were considered “cleared or almost cleared.

This study points to the production of this medication on future, since Barrier Therapeutics, Inc. reported positive Phase 2a data for its oral formulation of Rambazole (TM) in the treatment of moderate to severe acne and positive biological activity data for its topical formulation of this product.

Experts explain that a subject must have had more than 90 per cent reduction in total lesion count to be considered “cleared or almost cleared”. According to their report, inflammatory and non-inflammatory lesions responded equally well to treatment. There were no serious effects related to the treatment with this new component. Only some patients of the group in study experienced dryness of skin and lips as non-serious side effects.

Geert Cauwenbergh, Ph.D., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Barrier Therapeutics, Inc. explained that “these positive Phase 2a results indicate that oral Rambazole is active in moderate to severe inflammatory acne, and that depending on the outcome of future, full scale clinical trials, this drug may one day fill the need for safe and effective oral treatments for moderate and severe acne. These results further build on our previously announced promising clinical data for oral Rambazole for psoriasis”.

Diet as a Natural Treatment for Acne

Writen by Robert Kokoska

Since the skin is the largest organ on the body and it assists other major organs in the human body with eliminating waste, one of the best acne treatments is diet which has many home remedies for acne in the foods that we eat. If you are unhealthy inside it will be reflected in your skin.

Acne occurs when the natural oils that the skin produces clogs the pores of the skin. Normally acne is prevalent in the onset of puberty when the body starts to produce hormones, it has also been known to be a problem for women during pregnancy. Since acne is a problem for people world wide, there are many forms of acne treatments, acne products and acne medications on the market.

A natural treatment for acne is diet, which some say can be an acne cure and for many is the best acne treatment. When I was a teenager I had severe acne and tried using what were considered the best acne treatments at the time.

Retin-A was one of the most popular prescription acne medications on the market at that time. Noxzema skin cream and Clearsil were two of the most popular acne products used among my friends and I. I learned the hard way that Alcohol should not be used as a home remedy for acne and with severe acne cutting back on processed foods replacing them with a healthy diet of fruits and vegetables. I thought that diet as a natural acne treatment was going to be bad because until that point I lived junk food.

Using diet as a natural acne treatment was not as bad as I had thought it would be. There are so many foods that act naturally as a home remedy for acne and are often the best acne treatments. At first I thought that it would be easier to just remember when to use acne medication or the other acne products that I was using at the time rather than to give up on junk foods.

The internal home remedy for acne prescribed by my doctor and mother turned out to be for me the best acne treatment used along with all natural acne products like tea-tree oil. To my surprise I enjoyed this change in diet and in a short time I felt like it was an acne cure that was noticeable with in the week.

My mother was happier that I was eating something besides chips and was also happy with what we thought was an acne cure. She was also happy that she did not have to spend a lot of money on acne medications or worry about which over the counter acne products were the best. Who would have thought when I drank naturally sweetened juices and lots of water that it would be a natural acne treatment. My breakouts were far and few in between all because of using diet as an acne treatment turned out to pretty much be an acne cure for me.

There are so many acne treatments on the market today that profess to be the answer to all of your problems but the truth of the matter is you will have to find the best acne products or try to find the best home remedies for you by simply researching on your own.

Some people will require acne medications because more serious illness are the reason for their acne problem. Home remedies for acne through diet can alleviate many of your outbreaks because we truly are what we eat. If the eyes are the window to the soul then the skin is a reflection of your overall health so the beginning of a real cure starts from within.

Fat Loss Owner’s Manual

Writen by Craig Ballantyne

Turbulence Training is a structured routine that I came up with that allows you to get the most results in the least amount of time, no matter what your goals. That’s why I am able to create Turbulence Training for Fat Loss and Turbulence Training for Mass.

Turbulence Training has evolved from both scientific principles as well as personal experience. And it originally came to me in a dream in University. Just kidding. The truth is that during my graduate years at University, I was searching for an efficient and effective way to stay lean while keeping my strength and mass even when I did not have time to train as often as I would like.

So I based the program on what I had read in hundreds of strength training and fat loss studies, as well as my countless past workouts that I had logged faithfully over the years. From that research and my results, Turbulence Training was invented. The principles of Turbulence Training are:

1) Lift heavy weights.

Heavy strength training stimulates what is called muscle protein turnover. This is important for two reasons:

a) It causes extra calorie burning outside of training.

b) It stimulates muscle re-modeling (it will help keep muscle while in a state of reduced calories, whereas lighter reps and a lesser stimulus to the muscle won’t have the same muscle maintenance effect).

For most people, 8 reps is often lower than what they regularly use, therefore they build strength and muscle while reducing calories and burning calories with intervals. It works great even for advanced guys, but the results are almost magical for the average person because they tend to train with high reps and light weights. Thankfully, because so many people are using such poor programs, they make me look like a genius when they switch to my Turbulence Training routines.

2) Interval training is more effective for burning body fat and maintaining muscle mass than regular cardio.

I think this is most true when it comes to the last couple of pounds of body fat. Interval training is what separates people with 15% body fat from those people with the lean, athletic look. If you want to lose that last ten pounds, you will do it best with interval training in your workouts. Interval training also builds better sport conditioning and “everyday fitness” that is more practical to life (i.e. how often do you have to run more than 20 minutes at a slow pace vs. how often do you sprint up 3 flights of stairs?).

3) Non-competing supersets allow you to do more work, with less fatigue, than supersets of similar muscle groups or even traditional antagonist groups.

This allows most people to continue making strength gains even when they reduce calories. It also allows you to get more work done in a shorter amount of time. That’s why Turbulence Training is so efficient and effective.

4) Variety.

The Turbulence Training workouts are changed every 4 weeks, and sometimes every 2 or 3 weeks. My training template is simple to adapt and easy to modify for the creation of an endless number of workouts – a great thing to know if you are a personal trainer or simply someone that loves to workout to improve their body.

How is Turbulence Training different from other programs?

I found that most fat loss programs were deviating from the main goal. Some programs tried to be so hardcore that all they were concerned with was making someone puke. That will help you lose your lunch weight, but if you can’t complete the workout, how good could it be? Making someone puke doesn’t accomplish as much as my structured programs that actually stimulate the body to change.

Other fluffy fat-loss programs however, are all about high reps and slow cardio. That might give you some muscle endurance, but it doesn’t't help you keep your strength and muscle, or really shed your fat. The programs that really get on my nerves are the ones that promise a toned body by doing a few sets of curls with soup cans. Get real! That will never work. You have to train hard to get the body of your dreams.

And I won’t lie, with Turbulence Training, you have to work hard, but the results are worth it. You have to lift heavy enough to stimulate muscle growth & muscle turnover and you have to do intervals at a level that you will find uncomfortable, but tolerable. With the heavy lifting and intervals, you will burn more calories outside of the training session than you would with any other program. And that is the magic behind Turbulence Training.

I call this effect, “Turbulence”, and use the analogy of the turbulence that a plane must fight against to right itself in the air. The harder your body has to work to return to normal, the more calories and fat it will burn and the more changes your body will make (i.e. you will build muscle and lose fat). It’s all about adaptation. And you’ll adapt to the TT workouts by getting leaner, fitter, and stronger.

Craig Ballantyne trains athletes and executives in Toronto, and writes for Men’s Fitness magazine. His trademarked Turbulence Training workouts and his comprehensive workout manuals (including “The Ultimate Bodyweight Workout”) are featured on his website Turbulence Training.

Explain Your Depression

Writen by Justin Meyer

Depression can seem obvious to you. However, other people: family, friends, significant others, they will not understand it as clearly as you see it. You need to be able to tell them what you are going through in layman’s terms. You need to make sure that you can convey to them that what you are experiencing is real, not imagined, and can be fixed. But most importantly, when talking to your family, you need to make sure that they understand that it is not their fault, what you are going through is not caused by your family. Even if it is a lie, you do not want to cause trouble when discussing your condition.

Start by explaining that depression is not strictly suicidal tendencies. There are other things involved in depression, and you may not be suicidal at all. You want to make sure that you are able to communicate the feelings that you have, that you feel sad but there is no specific cause; that you are tired even after you get a full night’s sleep. The issues are not so simple that they can be dismissed with basic cures.

It is probably best, though, to avoid saying that you have a problem with your brain chemistry. Since it is too hard to truly explain what that means, you are better off leaving any topics about your internal workings for smaller discussions separate from this time. Focus more on your feelings, on how you are working to get better, and stressing what makes you uncomfortable. That will help you to clarify it for yourself as well as for your supporters.

Aging: Stop With Anti-Oxidants

Writen by CD Mohatta

None of us wants to age. Even if that is inevitable, we all want to look young. That is also right because youth has a beauty that is absent in age. How anti oxidants can help you in fighting aged looks? Let us find out.

Anti-oxidants: what are they – our body is constantly attacked by pollution, sunrays and other damaging factors. While saving the body, we produce free radicals. They are oxygen molecules without an electron. These free radicals’ search around the body for a free electron. They take it from a healthy cell and kill it. That is very damaging to body and accelerates aging. Anti oxidants give an electron to these free radicals and stop them from damaging healthy cells. That is how they protect us from aging.

Anti Oxidants: how to use them. Most of the Vitamins such as Vitamin C, Vitamin E are anti oxidants. You get them from food. Beta-carotene that is a type of Vitamin a is an excellent anti oxidant. You get it from foods such as carrots. You can also take supplements of these Vitamins under a doctor’s advice. Some Vitamins are dangerous in higher dose. Selenium is another anti oxidant. Copper peptide is one more. Some of these anti oxidants are formulated in topical applications and can be used to maintain the young look of the skin. Many Vitamin formulations are available in the market to fight aging looks by application. Choose one carefully that suits your skin type. Speak to your doctor and fight the aging looks. Anti oxidants are our friends.

How To Not Lose Weight

Writen by Eva Moffat

Going on a starvation diet.

That is missing meals and only having half meals when you do eat.

You may think that by missing meals you are taking in less calories and surely that is what you must do to lose weight. But you are wrong.

Because your body will decide that there is going to be a famine for whatever reason and so will store whatever carbohydrates and fat are in the food you DO eat and store it as fat for possible future starvation.

Not drinking enough water.

Water is essential for living. You can live for about 3 weeks without food, but only about 7 days without water.

You need to drink about 2 litres a day. If like me you don’t like plain water, you can add unsweetened cordial to it. Do not confuse drinking pure fruit juice with drinking water. Pure fruit juice is more of a food than a drink.

Alcohol especially beer will make you put on weight because it is full of calories.

So if you DON’T want to lose weight, drink lots of it.

Also, not drinking enough water could make you constipated. This will make you feel bloated, sluggish and your metabolism will slow down, resulting in the food you do eat being unable to get away from you and will store as fat. The faster your metabolism, the quicker your waste will be evacuated from your body and not get a chance to hang about as fat.

Carbohydrates will make sure you DON’T lose weight.

If you are really determined that you DON’T want to lose weight. Be sure to eat lots of food containing carbohydrates.

There’s a load of carbohydrates in breads and pastries. So enjoy yourself, tuck into a large plate of meat pie and chips, followed by some delicious apple pie and custard. And to really make sure you DON’T lose weight, have seconds of everything.

Salt will help you in your mission NOT to lose weight.

Salt will absorb water. So the more salt you take in to your body, the less water there will be to convert into blood and other body fluids.

Now you know how to sabotage your own body and self-destruct.

And you will know How To Not Lose Weight.
